Introduction
Trusted Device Authentication (TDA) is a security feature that allows you to log in to consumr.ai securely and conveniently. By marking your device as trusted, you can bypass the need to enter your password repeatedly, making your login experience faster and more seamless. This guide will walk you through the steps to set up and use TDA on consumr.ai.

Convenience: Once your device is marked as trusted, you can log in with a single click or through biometric authentication, saving you time and effort.
Reduced Interruptions: With TDA, you won’t need to remember and enter your password every time, allowing you to focus more on your tasks.
Setting Up TDA on consumr.ai
Log In to consumr.ai for the first time
After this security feature goes live
This feature is scheduled to go live on 13th August 2024. When it does, all users will be auto logged out of the platform. When the user tries to log in after the release of this feature, the user will be required to authenticate using the TOTP (Multi factor authentication), once. On successful login, the user will be given an option to login in to password less feature called Device Authentication, where the user will need to accept the Passkey way of logging in, to enable it.
New User
As a new user, you will need to follow the normal onboarding process. Once you have set up your TOTP and logged in for the first time, you will be prompted to accept your device’s security to also act as your security check for consumr.ai’s login. If you accept, it will accept your device’s login as the security check.
Complete the Setup:
o Once you accept the device authentication as your security check, you will not have to enter your TOPT (from your authenticator app) for the next 3 months.
o You will receive a confirmation message indicating that your device is now trusted.
Using TDA for Future Logins
Quick and Secure Access:
On subsequent logins, simply navigate to consumr.ai.
You will be recognized as a trusted user and can log in with a single click or through biometric authentication (if enabled).
Biometric Authentication (Optional):
If your device supports biometric authentication (fingerprint or facial recognition), you can enable this feature for even faster access.
Follow the on-screen instructions to set up biometric authentication.
Maintaining Security
Periodic Re-Authentication:
For security reasons, you may be asked to re-authenticate once in 3 months.
This ensures that your device remains secure and trusted.
Suspicious Activity:
If there is any suspicious activity or a significant change in your device’s usage pattern, you may be required to re-verify your device.
Follow the prompts to login to your consumr.ai account from another device and follow the instructions to move from one device to another.
